We’re Kat and Matt, your hosts at The Topanga Cottage—and yes, we fully embrace how rhymey our names are.

As travelers ourselves, we’ve stayed in Airbnbs all over the world and love creating a space that feels like home. Matt grew up in Topanga, and when I first visited, I was immediately drawn to its wild beauty, canyon magic, and peaceful way of life. It’s a place that feels both grounding and inspiring—something we hope you experience during your stay.

We live a quiet, simple life, appreciating the little things—good food, good coffee, and good company (which includes our small but mighty dachshund, Cato). When we’re not hosting, we’re usually road-tripping, soaking in the California sun, or Matthew is off chasing waves.

We want The Topanga Cottage to be exactly what you need—a peaceful escape, a creative hideaway, or a cozy base for adventure. While we’ll always give you complete privacy, we’re just a message away if you ever need anything.
